Faculty Requirements 2023: Canvas
Canvas Implementation and CTL Support:
Canvas will be the sole LMS used at Kean, staring Fall 2023. Kean will no longer use Blackboard.
Faculty (teaching in person courses) are expected to list their major assignments and post grades in an online gradebook within the Canvas platform. The setup process is simple and is expected to take about 15 minutes per course. If you are unfamiliar with the process, please enroll in the "GRADEBOOK" workshop, which will provide you with step-by-step instructions. (See list of classes)
The university encourages faculty teaching in person courses to use Canvas to support instruction and learning. To expedite Canvas integration the CTL created a template.
Faculty (teaching hybird courses) are expected to Canvas. All courses should use the Kean Template. If you are unfamiliar with the process, please enroll in a "TEMPLATE" workshop, which will provide you with step-by-step instructions. (See list of classes)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Adjuncts can request Canvas shells that they can use to build their future courses. Please fill out this form. In the details section, please fill write: adjunct requesting Canvas shell to build now so it is ready if/when you get assigned a course.
